Giới thiệu chung:​

Chuỗi chương trình VH1 Storytellers luôn là thánh địa của những nghệ sĩ thực thụ, nơi âm nhạc không chỉ để nghe mà còn để hiểu. Và tập phát sóng của Alicia Keys (ghi hình tại Metropolis Studios, New York) chắc chắn là một trong những tập hay nhất.

Trong không gian ấm cúng và gần gũi, "Nữ hoàng R&B" đưa khán giả đi qua hành trình sự nghiệp của mình, từ những ngày đầu với Fallin' cho đến sự bùng nổ của Girl on Fire. Không vũ đoàn hoành tráng, không chiêu trò sân khấu, chỉ có Alicia, cây đàn Piano và những câu chuyện chưa từng kể.

Phân tích kỹ thuật (Technical Review):​

• Về Âm Thanh (LPCM 5.1):Đây là điểm sáng giá nhất của bản release này. LPCM (Linear Pulse Code Modulation) là định dạng âm thanh không nén, thường chỉ thấy trên các đĩa Blu-ray Music cao cấp.
  
  • Khác với DTS hay AC3 (vốn đã bị nén mất dữ liệu), LPCM 5.1 giữ nguyên băng thông gốc. Anh sẽ nghe thấy tiếng búa gõ vào dây đàn Piano (hammer action) rõ mồn một, tiếng lấy hơi và cả những đoạn ngân rung (vibrato) tinh tế trong giọng hát của Alicia.
  • Không gian âm thanh không quá rộng như sân vận động, mà tái tạo chính xác không khí của một Studio cao cấp: Tĩnh lặng, sạch sẽ và chi tiết đến kinh ngạc.
• Về Hình Ảnh (1080p x265):Sử dụng codec x265 (HEVC) giúp xử lý rất tốt các vùng tối và shadow trong studio. Ánh sáng của show này chủ yếu là đèn vàng ấm (tungsten) chiếu vào nghệ sĩ trên nền tối. Bản encode này thể hiện dải màu da (skin tone) của Alicia rất tự nhiên, mịn màng, không bị nhiễu hạt (noise) hay bệt màu ở các vùng chuyển sáng tối.

Thưởng thức Alicia Keys: VH1 Storytellers giống như được ngồi ngay hàng ghế đầu trong một buổi họp mặt thân mật.

• Sự kết nối (Intimacy): Điểm đặc biệt của Storytellers là phần giao lưu. Trước mỗi bài hát, Alicia đều kể về hoàn cảnh sáng tác. Ví dụ như câu chuyện hài hước khi cô viết You Don't Know My Name (về việc tán tỉnh anh chàng bồi bàn) hay cảm xúc tự hào về quê hương trong Empire State of Mind (Part II). Nó làm bài hát trở nên có hồn và sâu sắc hơn hẳn.
• Chất Soul/Jazz đậm đặc: Khi Alicia lướt ngón tay trên phím đàn, không khí cả khán phòng như chùng xuống. Những bản phối mới (new arrangements) cho No One hay If I Ain't Got You mang màu sắc Jazz/Soul ngẫu hứng, khoe trọn kỹ thuật thanh nhạc điêu luyện mà vẫn đầy tình cảm.
